OUR STORY
Although the Porch Family legacy reaches far beyond Georgia—back to the culturally rich lands of Benin, Nigeria and the People of the Fulani tribe, where our ancestors were chiefs, queens, warriors, and healers—our roots in America trace through Virginia with Thomas (1772–1823) and James Porch (1749–1787) before branching south into Georgia.

It was there, in Pike County, that the modern story of our family took shape with Frank Porch (1870s–1950s) and Katherine “Carrie” Hall (1880–c.1913). Together they raised five children—Mattie, Lucy, Frankie Lee, Alberta, and James—whose families became the foundation of the generations gathered today.
Frank and Katherine’s story is one of resilience. From the fields of Georgia to the porches where stories were told, they built a family that weathered hardship with strength and passed down traditions of faith, love, and kinship.

Today, every Porch Family Reunion is more than just a gathering—it is living history. Each laugh, each spades game, and each porch talk remind us that we are part of something greater than ourselves: a legacy that began in Africa, took root in Virginia, and blossomed through Frank and Katherine into the Porch Family we celebrate today.

About the 2026 Reunion

Every family’s got traditions—ours just happens to involve spades, too much food, and porch talk that goes on way past bedtime. The Porch Family Reunion is our chance to come together, laugh until our sides hurt, and remind each other why we’ll always be more than just relatives—we’re cousins for life.
This year, we’re bringing all that love (and a little bit of friendly chaos) to Chattanooga, Tennessee! From September 4–6, 2026, we’ll gather at the Drury Plaza Hotel for a weekend filled with stories, games, and that unique Porch Family vibe you can’t find anywhere else.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned reunion pro, come ready for good food, good laughs, and good memories. Because when cousins link up… it’s always a whole season, not just an episode.
